How We Check Listings

Families need information they can trust. Here is exactly how we build and check every listing on Dementia Care Helper.

Where our information comes from

  • State licenses: we check memory care and assisted living communities against Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) licensing records.
  • Provider websites: services, prices and contact details come from the provider’s own website when they publish them.
  • Published price estimates: when a provider does not publish prices, we show public estimates and label them clearly as estimates.
  • Medicaid: we mark “Reported to accept Medicaid” only when a public source says so. Medicaid beds are often limited, so always ask.

How often we check

Every listing shows a “last checked” date. We re-check listings regularly and update them when providers send corrections.

How this site is paid for

The directory is free for families. We do not run a call center, we never ask for your phone number, and we never sell your information. In the future, providers may pay for a clearly labeled featured listing. Paying never changes the facts we show, and we never charge providers per family or per referral.

See something wrong?

Providers and families can send corrections through our contact page. We fix errors quickly.
